Some of you might remember !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
Well, since I needed a new rim and wanted to get something more than a new rim for the $500, I told them I wanted to keep my old rim. So they put it in the box the new one came in.
As you can tell, the rim is done for.
So I found a friend with cutting wheel.
After the barrel and face of the rim were separated, it was time to clean up the edge.
After that, I took the rim home where it was time to clean it up.
Sprayed it down with some brake cleaner and cleaned it with an old wash cloth.
Nice and clean.
I was going to grab a roundel from the junkyard, but I didn’t want to wait, and considering entry is $3. I got one off of ebay.
After that, I got some dry wall anchors and hung it on my wall.

Cutoff wheels are a handy thing. I cut the back out of a bellhousing to make a spacer last year for my mitsubishi\mazda swap.
How much would you guess that wall art weighs? That's a really cool use of "garbage".

I put it on my bathroom scale and it came out to be 18lbs, I thought most of the weight would be in the barrel, nope the facade is still heavy.

I’ve got a couple BMW hubcaps, but this is the first one that’s on my wall. I really like the design of the style 193.
